Polaris is AnTech’s largest tool in its family of bottom hole assemblies. With a 5.0” diameter it is perfect for drilling holes sizes in the 6” range and higher. And with its new gyro based directional measurement unit it provides a simplified and significantly more economical solution.
The first tool to use a solid state gyro mechanism for determining orientation, Polaris offers a solution that is dramatically simplified, with fewer sensors and shorter length, making it easier and quicker to manufacture and operate. The tool is suitable for applications in a broad range of environments. For example, operators involved in accessing unconventional gas shales, coal bed methane (CBM) and underground coal gasification (UCG) will all be able to use an effective directional drilling system that enables the efficiency and cost advantages of Coiled Tubing Drilling (CTD) to be realised. | |
